Enjoy The Best Parts Of The Fall Season With These Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Patches

Farmer John’s Pumpkin Farm

Farmer John’s Pumpkin Patch has been selling Half Moon Bay pumpkins on Highway 1 every fall for over 25 years. Two years ago, the pumpkin patch reigns were handed over to two new owners and their families, Danny Lopes and Danny Bretao (“The Danny’s”), who have been lovingly keeping Farmer John’s traditions and mission alive.

The farm grows over a dozen different varieties of pumpkins, including Atlantic Giants that can grow to be between 250 and 1500 pounds, stylish Cinderella and Fairy Tale, special heirlooms, and Sugar Pies, perfect for baking. And, of course, the classic round orange pumpkins that are perfect for jack-o-lanterns. They also grow and sell a variety of mini pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, and corn stalks that are perfect for decorating for the fall season. In addition to providing their customers with an abundance of pumpkins, Farmer John’s Pumpkin Farm also offers tractor and hay rides, sunflower fields perfect for photos, and Berner Day, a celebration of all things Bernese Mountain Dog!

Andreotti Family Farms

Andreotti Family Farms doesn’t just sell Half Moon Bay pumpkins from their patch. They grow and sell a variety of fall and winter produce that they love sharing with customers in their community! They take pride in their sustainable farming practices, ensuring the quality of their soil and the products they use to grow their produce. As farmers, they know that eating better begins with growing better, and they’re committed to their farming practices in order to provide the families they serve with the highest quality products around.

That being said, their pumpkins are some of the best – especially the edible ones! Bring the whole family to pick out pumpkins, whether you’re looking for something decorative or one to carve into the perfect jack-o-lantern for Halloween. They also have a Haunted Corn Maze, perfect for visitors who love a spookier experience, and gorgeous U-Pick sunflower fields, perfect for creating your own unique bouquet or posing for some authentically beautiful photos.

Pastorino Farms

Pastorino Farms is a beautiful place to visit any time of year as a retail nursery for year-round plants, cut flowers, and gifts. But they really shine in the month of October, when their Half Moon Bay seasonal pumpkin patch opens! Gather your family and friends for a visit to pick out your pumpkins for the year and partake in a true celebration of the season.

When you visit Pastorino Farms’ pumpkin patch, you’ll also get to enjoy a variety of activities that you can add to your experience for a minimal fee. Shop for gifts and homemade food products, or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on your own. Take a hayride or a train ride, or treat your little one to a pony ride! Feed farm animals, bounce around on giant jumpers and inflatables, and on the weekends, have your face painted or try out their spooky haunted house!

Bob’s Vegetable Stand and Pumpkin Farm

Bob’s Vegetable Stand and Pumpkin Farm is as simple as it sounds. While other nearby pumpkin patches have lots of attractions and entertainment, here, it’s all about the pumpkins! Bob’s is truly a pumpkin farm with acres of growing gourds. Other spots may have pre-picked pumpkins on display for you to choose from. But here, if you come early enough in the season, you can even pick your own pumpkin right off the vine.

Tucked a little further away from the Half Moon Bay highway, Bob’s typically has fewer crowds than other pumpkin patches, perfect for a more leisurely experience. When you arrive, you can grab a wheelbarrow and load it up with pumpkins, ornamental gourds, and other seasonal produce fresh off the farm. There are also a few farm animals to observe while you’re there, including pigs, chickens, sheep, and goats. Plus, leashed dogs are welcome, so you can include your furbabies, too!

Lemos Farm Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Patch

Lemos Farm is a working farm and amusement park with plenty of entertainment the whole family will love! Their favorite time of year is Halloween, and during September and October, their farm transforms into a pumpkin farm and Halloween-Palooza! Not only can you pick out the perfect pumpkin, but you can also appreciate the seasonal decor, pumpkin treats (ice cream, pumpkin bread, and, of course, pumpkin pie), and other Halloween-themed specials!

In the fall, the farm features attractions like pony rides, train rides, jumpers and slides, a petting zoo, and so much more! There is also a Haunted House (open year-round) that has two versions: a scary and a non-scary, so everyone can enjoy it! Lemos Farm is a celebration of all things Halloween and fall, and their selection of pumpkins can’t be beaten!

Arata Pumpkin Farm

In the 1930s, brothers John and Clarence Arata planted pumpkin seeds to feed the family’s hogs and were surprised when, one day, a motorist passing by along Highway 1 stopped and asked them to buy a few pumpkins. The rest, as they say, is history! Since then, they’ve been growing the pumpkin industry in Half Moon Bay into what it is today, and now they draw in thousands of families a year to celebrate pumpkin season!

In addition to selling pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, Arata’s also has a world-famous two-acre Minotaur’s Labyrinth hay maze, a perfect challenge for a daring visitor. They also have a spooky Haunted Barn, hay rides, train rides, and more. Littler ones will love participating in their miniature hay maze, playing on the playground, taking a pony ride, or feeding farm animals at the petting zoo! When you’re ready to refuel, stop and rest at one of their picnic areas and enjoy a refreshing snack or beverage.
