Baker Beach Family Photos

Baker Beach family photos are a client favorite for San Francisco photography! The Golden Gate Bridge is a beautiful backdrop, especially if you’re framing your photos for the wall. As a family photographer, I also love that there is variety of scenery from the beach and cypress trees.

Of course, it is San Francisco, so you can never be quite sure how the weather will be be. Whether there is heavy fog or sun shining through, you can be sure of one thing – you’ll end up with beautiful photos!

I have to admit, I do love when the sun shines through the cypress trees for Baker Beach family photos. But even when the fog suits the photos well, since it’s so typical of San Francisco weather.

How to Prepare for Your Baker Beach Family Photos

If you’re coming to San Francisco for Baker Beach family photos and you live out of the area, you might not know what to expect. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your session.

• One thing that’s usually necessary – even in the summer – is warm clothing. Even sunny days at Baker Beach can be quite chilly, but a cute sweater should do the trick. For the best smiles, it’s important that everyone in the family is comfortable.
• Shoes you can remove easily. You’ll want shoes for some of the areas we’ll go to, but we’re going to be on the beach eventually, and many people don’t like the feeling of sand in their shoes. Even in chilly weather, bare feet can be more comfortable. And if is warmer? I’ll definitely try to get you to put your toes in the water!
• Bring a change of clothes for the ride home. Just in case you get sandy or wet, it’s always a good idea to have an extra set of clothes for beach sessions. Especially if you’re coming from out of the area, it will make the ride home a lot more pleasant for everyone.
• There is plenty of free parking! This is one of the nicest things about a photo session at Baker Beach – it’s usually easy to find a spot!
• There are restrooms. Another great thing that not every photo session location has! This is especially helpful if you’ve come from out of the area or have little ones. San Francisco restrooms are not always the easiest to find, but Baker Beach has got your covered!
