This well-loved Los Altos toy store on our list is located right on Main Street.  Adventure Toys is an independent, local, family-run business that first opened its doors in 1986. They offer a selection of high-quality products with an educational and creative focus, including a selection of activity and sticker books. However, the single best aspect of the store is the unmatched service, with a well-trained staff focused on providing a quality customer experience. They even offer personalized recommendations for gift ideas and will wrap your gifts for absolutely free.

Linden Tree Books

The second store on our list is Linden Tree Books, located on the tree-lined 265 State Street in Downtown Los Altos. Linden Tree is a women-owned Los Altos toy store, bookstore, and gift shop established in 1981. This charming tree-themed welcomes everybody, including dogs. Even though the main theme of this shop is children’s books, it carries a number of toys, puppets, and stuffed animals. The carefully curated selection of unique decorations contributes to the homey ambiance of the store. A staple of the local community, this is a one-stop-shop for everything that a child could dream of: from toys and educational games to various book-related products.

The staff, comprising of multiple members of the local community, is knowledgeable, well-trained, and helpful. Gift wrapping services are also available at the store to help you celebrate your special occasions. As if all that was not impressive enough, Linden Tree also, notably, supports local non-profits, donating their products to kids in need.

Nearby in neighboring Mountain View, locals will also find Diddams Party and Toy store. Diddams is a family operated business with a few locations throughout the Bay Area. They are mainly well known for their selection of party supplies. It’s also a great stop for holiday-themed novelties like Valentine’s Day and Halloween. You’ll find balloons, candy, costumes, and toys! They carry puzzles and playthings from well-loved brands such as Lego and Ravensburger. It’s a one-stop shop for fun!
