Q: Do I need a pediatric dentist for my kids?

A: Children should see either a pediatric dentist or family dentist for their oral health.

Q: When should I bring my child to the dentist for the first time?

A: Children should see the dentist as soon as they have teeth.

Q: How often should my child visit the dentist?

A: Children should see the dentist every 6 months.

Q: What do I do if my child knocks out a tooth?

A: Find the tooth, place in milk and call your dentist right away.

Q: Should I use fluoride toothpaste on my child? What about it being a neurotoxin?

A: If a child can spit out, they can have fluoride in their toothpaste. The amount that is used is very small but the overall benefits for children is huge.

You can tell them that dentists look at teeth and clean them to make sure they are healthy.
