Sunset Alviso Maternity Photography Session

Alviso Marina County Park in San Jose is the perfect place to capture that gorgeous golden light in the hour before sunset. I was excited when this couple chose this location for their alviso maternity photo session!

Your Alviso Maternity Photography Session

I have quite a few favorite locations for south Bay Area photo sessions, but what I love about Alviso is how wide open it is, allowing me to capture the sun right through until it sets.

Other than at beach maternity sessions (weather permitting), there isn’t usually the opportunity for beautiful silhouette images like this with the sun rays shining through.

It gets very windy at this location, so be prepared for that! It won’t stop us from getting gorgeous photos, though! A form-fitting dress makes for a beautiful silhouette, but you might also consider a flowy dress to take advantage of the wind and add some movement to your images.

Alviso also has unique features that give some variety to your images, such as these house-like structures.

When to Schedule Your Maternity Photo Session

I typically recommend scheduling you maternity photo session between 32 and 36 weeks. That way, your belly is large enough to be showing distinctly, but you’re more comfortable than you might be towards the very end of pregnancy. Pregnancy is different for everyone, though, so it completely depends on mom. For this couple, earlier was best for them.

It was such a gorgeous session with a fun couple, and I’m so excited to photograph more sessions here!
